In our articles our links are set up but when it is displayed for the user the link is not there.

If you click into that words with link, does browser open link? even if mouse cursor stays exactly same.

No nothing happens its as if the link is not there.

Did you try in another editor?
Clear cache?

Good thought I will try that.

This is totally weird. I changed the editor to Tiny MCE from CK editor and the links still do not work.

Probably you have HTML Filtered, in your Global Configurations -> Text Filter. You need to change Filter Type to No Filtering in all users that you want to use HTML Tags (I only set Author ; Editor; Publisher and Super Users, that are the only Groups that I really trust in). Once you have done this change, clear your browser's cache and test once again, I am sure that it will work now :)
