Edit Item Form Template on Item Page was created by Justin Place
Hi there,

I am aware that you can change the template of the item Edit Form as a menu item,

But if im not using a menu item

Is there a way i can do a template override for the item edit form on the item page?

Or do i have to edit the Default Folder?

Thanks in advance

I decided to just edit the "Item form.php" in the default folder..

I want to Hide:

* Item alias
*Category
*Published

I tried to comment them out but it still doesnt allow the user to publish without having those fields present.

I think that the category is required. The publish/unpublished state can be set up from the user group so you shouldn't have an issue with that. Also the alias is not required since it is filled in automatically on Save.

You shouldn't modify itemform.php located in the component's directory. Instead, you could create a K2 template override (read here: getk2.org/documentation/tutorials/174-templating-with-k2-and-the-concepts-of-sub-templates) and keep all changes intact upon K2 update.
