I am wanting to create a blog like website that has multiple items, but I am wanting to create article items and have them listed via a category I want the article item to show "xx" amount of characters then click "read more" how can I accomplish this??

There is an option located in K2 Category where you can set a word limit not character limit for your introtext. Would that do in your case or you absolutely need the character limit?
