Question about catalog view was created by Tim Payne
I have a page that is full of items in catalog view.
These are a friends videos we are compiling as she starts her filmmaking career:
www.amandatrudellpro.com/index.php/my-news

I want to create an item that holds an image of the Stratton Foundation to mark a series of videos. When users click on it, I want to have a different category of items populate the display of all the videos only for this series.

Searched the googleland and cannot find much help.

cheers!

Don't quite understand what you're saying here. Correct me if im wrong,

You want to create an item, and when users click that item you want to display different category of items with the same series ?

You can use the tag system. When an item is being viewed, it will also display items from other category with the same tag. It shows related items by tags. You can set what to show and hide at the Category->Item View Options->Related items configuration

If you just want to show the video, hide the rest and only set the Related item media to show

I have the Project page set up like I want at www.amandatrudellpro.com/index.php/my-news.
The first featured item "The Stratton Foundation" is not a video. What I am trying to accomplish is that when visitors click "The Stratton Foundation" image, another catelog-style page will open to show the individual episodes of the series of videos that will make up "The Stratton Foundation."

I am new with K2, and I really like all of the features if offers. Any suggestions or links to documents that will help me achieve what I am doing here would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Right now in your site The Stratton Foundation is an item and not a sub-category.

OK, lets try this...

Create a category called - Projects
In the category setting, choose what you want to show an hide. Set the catalog mode to yes.

Create a sub category called - The Stratton Foundation inside the Projects category
In the category setting, choose what you want to show an hide. Set the catalog mode to yes.

Create all the items with video that belongs to The Stratton Foundation and choose the The Stratton Foundation sub category. You can set what to show and hide in the sub-category item view options in category listing and item view options. You can set the leading items and no of columns , etc.

Once done adding items, create a k2 menu item in your joomla mainmenu and select the Projects category.

You're done. Hope this helps.

This is awesome...thanks!

I do have a few other questions related to the subcategory now at www.amandatrudellpro.com/index.php/my-news

1. How do I rebove the text "Children categories" that is visible?
2. Where do I change the image size that displays for the SubCategory?
3. How can I make the Subcategory "Featured"?

Thank you so much!

You're welcome.

Before you attempt to do overrides, read about the concept of templating in K2 - getk2.org/documentation/tutorials/item/174-templating-with-k2-and-the-concepts-of-sub-templates

Once done and you have the k2 folder files in your templates folder,

1. Open category.php and remove this line.
