I am tinkering with the demo plugin, and I would like to a field where I could trigger the link creation button from the JCE editor.

Can I add that function from the k2 plugin itself, or would I do an overide of the admin section - and trigger trough javascript the link button ?

Hi. What you are talking about sounds like an editor plugin. Look at /plugins/editors-xtd to see how the default buttons are implemented.
