Introtext required was created by Iwo
Hi.

I don't know if I am missing something somewhere,but I can't find ANYTHING about making introtext required!

Let me explaine:

If user can write on my web page he CAN also save page WITHOUT anything written in Introtext.
That sound pretty stupid,isn't it? :blink:
And when I tried to to found something about this,I can't find anything.Maybe I can't see something obvious?

Only search which is close to my problem is this one:

www.webmasterworld.com/javascript/4171489.htm

It is about fulltext,but ok,I thought with little modification will be ok.Hm....
After few days (!) I don't think so anymore.
Where to put code from that page to work in JCE and K2?

Or any other solution?

K2 = 2.6.7
Joomla = 2.5.19

Thank you.

Hi. There is a reason that introtext is not required. K2 has several fields (in contrast with articles ) that a user can use to his webite. For example someone may want to build an image catalog or a gallery catalog. There is no option for making introtext required. You can however make an override to form layout and place your extra javascript code there. Try to copy administrator/components/com_k2/views/item/default.php to administrator/templates/YOUR_ADMIN_TEMPLATE/html/com_k2/item/default.php. Then you can edit the copied file as you wish.

Thank you for your answer,Lefteris.

I understand your explanation why Introtext is not by default required,but it will be nice to have an option to do that, if we need so.

And,yes,I found some solution with putting javascript into my itemform to check if editor content is empty or not.

See attached image. Text means: "Introtext is required."

P.S. Sorry can't add image. :(

I cannot promise for sure, but we always hear what K2 users have to say. Thank you for your great feedback.
