Hello - is there a way in K2 to have more control over how tags are created and used? We find that tags get out of control if all of our authors can create them. For example, we'll have a tag called "seat belts", but another author might create "seatbelts" or "seat belt" or something similar. We end up with hundreds of tags when we really only need a couple dozen.

I'd like only our editor to be able to create tags, and each of our authors to be able to select from a list of pre-approved tags.

Can this be done?

Hi. Go to K2 parameters and check the relative options. K2 has options for locking and normalizing tags to avoid duplicates. Let me know if that works for you.

Thank you! After working with this it is close. It looks like I can block creation of tags for all but the Super Users.

I want to be able to allow tag creation for an Publisher, but not an Author. Basically I don't want to give back end administrative access to the person who can create tags.

The lock tags will only allow users with the permission of "Configure" to create tags. If that doesn't fit your needs then i am afraid that there is no other way to restrict tags creation.

Thanks! That got me close enough. Giving Publisher the "configure" rights allows him to add tags while an editor cannot.
