I have a client site that is using k2 to manage their equipment listings. however we noticed when an image is uploaded through the 'image' tab in the k2 item editor, the name gets changed to an unreadable string - this is something we would like to avoid so they can have their images readable by google. what can I do to prevent image renaming?

Hi. First of all Google will read the images just fine. It will use the alt attribute and not the filename. Secondly you cannot change that. This is the way K2 works.
