Despite advancements introduced by K2, I am surprised to see that the only way to contact an author seems to be going through his profile which email address in the clear. It's a problem because mail in plain words necessarily means behind spam mass. The contributors to my site not really appreciate to see their email displayed publicly. Do you know how to solve this problem and offer visitors the opportunity to contact the author of an article via eg a form who mask his email address?

The email at the profile is not in plain text. It uses Joomla!'s email cloacking, so bots and spam are not an issue.

If you want a separate form per user you can use Joomla!'s default contacts.
