In native Joomla, the menu item object for "single article" provides a filter to find articles in a specific category -- but in K2, when linking to a single item, there is no filter for category.

I have a multilingual web site, using KMFastrans for language management, and English articles are in a parent category called "English", and French articles are under a parent category called "French", so I can filter out my articles by language when selecting one.

When an English doesn't have a translation, we just reuse the English title in the French article.

In K2 item list when creating a menu link, there is no category filter, so I cannot be certain if I am selecting the correct item.

Any ideas how I can filter by category, or by language when selecting a single K2 item?

Hi. There is no filter by category option in neither single Joomla! article or K2 item menu link. After all it does not make any sense since an article/item belongs only to a single category. If you want a list of items filtered by categories this can be done by creating a menu link to K2 categories. There you will get the option to select the desired categories. Finally, regarding the language all menu links of all extensions in Joomla! allow you to select the desired language.
