Can you enable Development mode in your template's params to Yes?

I can. I did so and am getting the exact same behavior with it turned on as I am with it turned off, though.

A similar issue to this has been fixed already in the development version back in May. Here is the commit that solves the issue : github.com/joomlaworks/k2/commit/135dae0e5cfb572c72d95dfd17818605dbf7da0c . You can apply this fix and it should work.
