Please send me a link to the issue.
Also make sure that the category you are editing is not inheriting its settings from another category.

This the link
afordaweb.esy.es/joomla-cms-extensions-directory

No categories are inherited also when i go to to options in the menu link with just the single category " Joomla CMS Extensions Directory " selected no of the options change to the same as the category option i have applied in that category

I have fixed the problem which has to be some kind of a bug in K2 caused by the latest joomla update for 3.3+. the categories now display in 4 columns by me disabling the "Josetta K2 categories" plugin

@Richar Murphy

Hi. I don't think that the "Josetta K2 categories" is causing this. If you have a multilingual site ensure that you have set it up correctly.

I have tied this same fix on two(2) different hosting platforms one being cloudaccess and the other the one i sent you the link for and it corrected the problem on both hosting companies the same way and neither site is multilingual

The inline styles of K2 are missing.
These generate the width of the columns.

If you did not edit the template make sure that a plugin is not changing your markup.
