I was wondering if there was a way that I could get any new phpbb post to also be duplicated into a K2 article... if I can be pointed in the right direction, I can probably figure this out. I am new to coding and I am learning php at the moment. I figure that this is possible with php.

Why don't you use an RSS aggregator instead?
There are several extensions listed at the JED which support K2 items.
