Yesterday I stumbled on a site similar to mine (tourism site, about things you can do in my region) when surfing on my tablet, and after clicking on a link that said "things near you" the tablet asked me if I was willing to share my location with the website. After clicking "yes" the website indeed offered stuff near the location where I was at the time.

Can that be achieved with K2?

This can only be achieved via a custom K2 plugin.

Not really, you can look at the JED or getk2.org/extend for an existing plugin.
