Hello,

I'm using the K2 v2.5.1 with Joomla v2.5.27 and would like to get an automatic email if someone writes a comment at one of our articles.
In the Joomla backend I've found options on the K2 parameter page that look like they would do what I'm looking for but they don't seem to work.

Could someone confirm that this is the right spot to change the settings or tell that what I'm looking for can't be done?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

BTW. I haven't even found a proper manual that gives further info on the settings that can be made in the property panel :(

2.5.1 is really outdated, you should use 2.6.8
You need to install a 3rd party extension for notifications.
I think ACYMailing has an extension which supports K2 comments.

Do you know what the "report comments" option is doing if not notifying somebody when a new comment if posted?

Good question....I'm running into this problem every time when I purchase a template that has K2 built in....
If you can enable it and even fill in a comment notification email address, then why isn't this working by default?

Is it a bug that is still in the plugin after many updates?

I havent found a solution for it yet...this way my Blog has collected a whopping 10.000 spam comments without me ever finding out, I simply assumed I would be notified when someone leaves a message .... :(

This has nothing to do with the version of K2 or your template.

The setting is actually called "Comment reports recipient".
This means that you will be notified if a comment gets reported and not for every published comment.

Can you tell me if a notification email can be send if a new comment is added to a post with the default K2 forum?
Furthermore, can you tell mo how to update to the latest version (with joomla 2.5). I had googled it and downloaded the latest K2 version but have no idea how to update.

I had also have a look at the ACYMailing and posted in there forum but they told me as this is a very basic feature it should come with K2 already as default.

You simply install it on top.
Backup first because your overrides might need some updating as well since 2.5.1 is more than 10 versions behind.

Now as for the comment notification. K2 never had this feature. It is a valid request though.
