Perseverance got me there - all sussed

I'm a newbie to Joomla and K2 and teaching myself as I go along.

I have created a couple of categories and articles through K2 and when viewed on the browser they show "super user" and the sub cat menu I store the articles in, in this case Feb 15. The issue is I don't want to show that information. I have gone back through the admin panel to "hide" what I think it is showing but the items are still there. Can any one demonstrate how to hide them please?
