K2 User Profile not hidden for guests was created by Tibbe van Asten
Hi there,

I got a major issue with the user profiles in K2 for my website: www.riskworld.nl.

Trying to reach a user profile in a normal way, Joomla asks a visitor to log in first before they can see the profile. But the profiles are also accessible trough other menu-item, and google indexes these links.

To be more clear:
Normally, a user profile is accessible through the following link: www.riskworld.nl/lid/leden/117-support. You have to log in first to see the profile.
But, when using the following link: www.riskworld.nl/kennis/leden/117-support you can see the profile without logging in.

Anyone who can help me with this?

The profile of each user, acts like his blog page so it is visible by default.

You can map this into a map item and change it's access level or completely disable it from K2's settings.

The profile that the user can edit is only shown if the user has logged in

I already created a menu-item and changed the access level. That is why you can't access the profile when using the normal URL.

But why is any profile accessible through k2-categories/different URL's? And can I do something about this? Perhaps using redirects?

You can map all these users to menu items, or you can create a menu item towards all categories (just leave it blank) and all orphan users will render through this menu item.
