This is a captcha conflict. Make sure that you only have one captcha enabled K2's or Joomla!'s plugin.
In this forum there are several threads about this similar issue and how to properly setup captcha in your site.

Thank you Krikor. It is working now.
Perhaps in the future, if we could change the error message to say something like "double captcha is not allowed" or something.

You 're welcome.
Actually this error message is Captcha's default message, it is confusing but it cannot be changed.

Newbie here...
Is there a forum post that provides direction on what needs to be enabled and disabled in order to remove the "Empty Solution not allowed" error when creating a K2 User?
I have tried a few changes, but none were successful.
Thanks!

Disable Joomla!'s default captcha plugin and select the K2 capctha to be rendered in the registered page. The latter setting is located in K2's params.

Thank you Krikor!
When I went into Joomla User Management, I noticed that reCaptcha was enabled there. I disabled it, and it works proper now.

Hello,
I am contacting you after months of trying to manage this section by myself. I am not a computer geek, but I know the basics.
I have a new CSS template and the 3.4.8 Joomla version. I'm stuck between Category Blog in the Content and K2 Category Blog, I don't see the solution to the best blogging option. It just doesn't publish as I want it. Should I install another Joomla extension? I also want to disable category filtring, if possible?
Thank you in advance.
