I am being plagued by spammers creating crap accounts so I bought Extrawatch in order to help with that which it does BUT the visitor counter in K2 can show 132 people or bots, not logged on, connected to my site where Extrawatch Visitor section shows only me or on some occasions, 1 more.

I have gone to Extrawatch to ask them about this but I really dont know. I believe the K2 visitor counter counts all connections from any IP address and that is what Extrawatch is supposed to do as well.

So is the K2 visitor counter correct? has anyone any idea on that please?

K2 does not have a visitor counter. You are probably refering to Joomla!'s session counter, which counts open sessions.
