I've been using K2 with the French translation, but for some reason on all my web sites, I cannot get the READ MORE button or link to display in French. On the fr-FR.com_k2.ini file it shows as follow : K2_READ_MORE="En savoir plus…", but it doesn't seem to work. Could anybody help me with this.

Check your overrides to see if the read more string is hardcoded in the php files.
