I'm using Joomla 3.4.1 and K2 2.6.9 and I'm developing a site where users can submit K2 articles from the front end.

I was using non-SEF URLs during the development phase however now I wanted to switch on SEF URLs. I did this in Joomla Global Configuration by changing both “Search Engine Friendly URLs” and “Use URL rewriting” to yes within the SEO Settings.

However the problem I see when doing this is that the modal window for the create or edit item form does not open anymore. Instead, the create item / edit item form now replaces (loads) the full page and the form doesn't work well.

If I switch back to non-SEF URLs in the global settings then the modal windows for the edit item / create item forms start working again and the form works well.

Any ideas what might be happening and how could it get fixed?
