Frontpage Slideshow was created by Stuart Claggett
I am planning to use Frontpage slideshow that I purchased did not use before but am considering for a new project

1. The slideshow just continues to loop. Does anyone know if this can be stopped. More for user intervention.

2. Clicking on pictures of the other slides is somewhat intuitive but not to all. Has anyone added some arrow to allow users to advance in that fashion. Right below the image has room so that would work. (FSD template)

Thanks

Hello Stuart,

1. You can opt in for pausing the slideshow on hover or you can disable the autostart.

2. Yes there is a "read more" button that can be enabled/ disabled in the category's settings.

Hello Krikor,

Thanks for the response.

1. We are not doing auto play as we want this user driven.

2. I do not see any option in the backend for pausing the slide show on hover. Currently we have the setting manually switch on mouse click. This is fine to navigate the slide show but there is no way to pause a slide and there is no way for the slideshow to stop once started. It will just continue to loop.

3. Don't understand what you mean by the readmore button.

4. I also noticed that you cannot put html in the descriptions. For example we added a link and but it is stripped out? and shows only as text.

1. I prefer it that way as well.

2. The pause/ Play button is there, it is not available on all templates, but it can be placed in your overrides. Check the TT template. With some customisation (and/or help from us) you can trigger this button on certain occasions. Eg: Stop it when the user hovers over the slideshow.

3. Check the slide's category settings. You will find the option about the "read more" button.

4. If you use a wordlimit (same as K2's introtext) then all HTML tags are stripped.

Krikor,

We really like this product over some other alternatives however the FSD template is our primary choice as anything over the image is not ideal. Our issue is also that this is not responsive as I had noted when we had an active subscription and you had offered to assist with that but this project got sidelined for others and that passed on.

The TT pause and play button is exactly what we are looking for and there is room to put something small under the image on the FSD template.

I can look at the code and see what is feasible but it might be easier with some support on your side. I guess the only way to do that is subscribe again and I don't see any discount for upgrades.

Please advise.

Thanks
Stuart

I can provide a responsive solution Stuart.
As for the pause button. It can be easily included in the FSD template since there is a lot of available space.

Thanks. Can't do much today without responsive design.

How can we proceed? I will setup an override folder for FSD etc...
