Article Edit and Submission Not Using K2 was created by Michael Monteith
Before I installed and setup K2 I had 2 users. Administrator and Hreditor. I had simply setup this on my pc so I could play around with permissions. I wanted to assign different groups of people to be able to manage their own content. It's working as the HReditor basically can edit their own HR contents. However with K2 there is a few quirks I'm not sure how to fix.
1. The Submit New Article on the pages that the user normally uses only pulls up the editor. In this case the JCE editor which I have set as default. The problem is that doesn't show the K2 options above it.
2. The same issue goes with clicking on an article is I normally have the Print, Email, and Edit icons. Again the Edit pulls up the editor but not with the K2 options for like Image Gallery, Media etc.

It does have a HR Editor button to the right which seems to show an article but seems to point to "My Page". That and the menu on the right shows Add new Item when seems to work right as well. I'm assuming there is a few things needs to set correctly but I'm not finding it. I liked it simple where for instance the HR group could go to an article/item and hit a button to edit it like before.

Hello,

Does Hreditor offer K2 integration?

Hi all,

I'm also looking for a way to do something similar this.

I'm trying to create a simple command line interface script that will check an email box to create a new K2 item.

I've worked out how to check the email box, strip the text I need, save attachments, etc. and am now stuck on the creating the K2 item.

It looks like I can directly insert an item into the K2 database, but I think it would be much cleaner if I could set a few session variables (like introtext, categories, and then option, task, view) and redirect to K2 so it handles it all internally (calls save and has a nice day).

Has anyone else tried something similar or have any tips to share?

Thank you!

Hello, this sounds more like a custom extension.

@Michael Monteith This post will help you setup K2's front end editing.
getk2.org/documentation/tips-a-tricks/201-allowing-users-to-submit-content

Also K2's items are only edited from the item's page itself, the K2 category or the K2 user module. Finally you can add an edit form in the menu as well.
