I want my users to be able to embed videos (using AllVideos) in articles created in K2. Its a new site with with up to date joomla, community builder, K2, and AllVideos.

My issue is when users go to to make a new article the tabs available in the admin control panel are not shown. (see screenshots)

I have check many options, changed user groups, checked and rechecked setting, and yet I cannot figure out how to have the tabs on the front.

Hello,

This seems like a template issue.
The front-end form you are seeing is not K2's default form. You need to address this issue to the template's developer.

I have duplicated the issue using the two installed default Joomla Templates.... Would you like screenshots?

Interesting,
Which other extensions are you using?

Joomla
Community Builder Pro
K2
All Videos

I have read through a lot of the forum and the common trend is blaming someone else; Its your template, its this, its that... I have not linked my sites on this forum anywhere so the issue could be researched by JW, so how can it be said this or that is at fault when no one has inspected the setup?

Because the screenshot you sent me is not related to K2.
You should be seeing this instead: imgur.com/e5gx1QK

Since you are not seeing a default K2 view, something is causing that, whether its the template or a 3rd party extension.

So how to I set K2 to use it's default template and not be over ridden by the templates/extensions?

Double check the menu item's settings to see if another template is being enforced.

Then make sure that the itemform.php file in /components/com_k2/templates/default/itemform.php is the same as the 'stock' file (download a fresh version of K2).

If you did both these things and you still are not seeing what you should (check the image in imgur), then a 3rd party extension is producing this form.

Finally you mentioned something about articles, you did follow the procedure as described here, for front-end editing, right? getk2.org/documentation/tips-a-tricks/201-allowing-users-to-submit-content
