Editing extra fields, cache problem was created by den_dhaeze
Hi,
Editing extra fields only works when deleting browser's cache. So everytime I want to edit a single field I need to go firefox > preferences >advanced > cached web content > clear ... Otherwise the correction doesn't get saved. Tried turning off cache in global configurations in joomla, but without any effect. Does K2 have its own cache system or something?
thanks,
Michiel

Do you mean in the backend, or the changes are not visible in the frontend?
As for caching, K2 uses Joomla!'s caching layers.

Hi,
In the backend (and as a result also on the frontend). I edit the extra fields, then I click save. When I open the item again in the backend, and look at the extra fields, nothing seems to be modified. Editing the extra fields only works when I first clean my browsers cache.

This seams like a setup issue.
Try the following:
Change the fields of an item.
Even if the changes are not visible in the backend, are they visible in the frontend? (You may need to wait or use a query string)

Hi,
Yes, it seems like it changes in the frontend! but stays the same in the backend. Is there something I can do about it? Can you clarify the query string bit?
The backend does seem to refresh, but only after I clear the browser's cache.
thanks,
Michiel

Since the values are being indeed stored and shown in the frontend this indicates a server related issue or a plugin hiccup.
Are you using any caching extensions?

I wouldn't know where to look? I have a "System - Page Cache" plugin installed but it's not published. The caching in the global joomla configurations is OFF. But for the rest I'm not sure where to check.

Are you using Varnish, nginx caching or similar?
You can also ask your hosting provider about this issue.

Hi,
No I'm not using Varnish, nginx caching or similar. It worked okay for some time, but now we have a problem with K2 again. The updates in back- and frontend don't always work.

Have you tried to contact your hosting provider about this issue?
