Hi,

I'm working on a project where we're making extensive use of the Extra Fields feature in K2 and as I've discovered about a week out from launch the client is publishing volumes of text in to Text Area fields much greater than I'd expected, to the point where it's exceeding the limit for standard MySQL TEXT database fields.

I'm wondering if there would be any problems with me switching the Extra Fields database field to type MEDIUMTEXT so it would allow for the extra data?

No there should be no problem changing that. Remember to backup the table first.

I've backed up the table and made the change.

Have then tested publishing the extra content and it saved correctly.

Everything seems to be working fine, but we'll be publishing content all day tomorrow so I'll see how it goes then.

Will report back if we have any problems.

Thanks for following up... sorry been too flat out today to report back.

But I can happily report that we haven't had any problems today while working on the site so I think everything is ok with the database field type change.
