Hi, I've tried using WebX's Ark Editor with both K2 v2.6.9 and 2.7.0. the editor works great in the back end but causes strange output when trying to edit k2 items and categories in the frontend.

When trying to edit k2 in the frontend upon opening the k2 edit modal window the editor loads several times in the modal making it impossible to edit anything k2 in the frontend.

Is this an issue with k2 or the ark editor? I am guessing the problem is with ark editor but a paid subscription is needed to ask the question in their forum.

Hoping there are other k2 users here that have also seen this issue and have found a solution.

In case anyone else runs into this issue i have found the problem and the fix was as simple as it gets.

I didn't realize until digging in a bit further that my template was already loading jquery and I had also set the K2 options to load jquery.

Disabling jquery in k2 options fixed the issue and the ark editor now works as expected with Joomla 3.4.4 and the latest K2 dev build v2.7.0.

If you run into multiple instances of jQuery in the future (apart from K2) you can also try using jQuery Easy.

Looks like I jumped the gun on this one and I'm still having issues. I removed the [solved] from the title.

Turning off jquery in k2 options did indeed stop the multiple loading inside the modal however now the save and close buttons do not work. its like they are unresponsive and do nothing.

I installed jquery easy and tried multiple configurations thinking the issue may be due to script order but none of the settings gave the expected results.

I tried disabling plugins but it made no difference.

I am going to have to do a fresh Joomla install with k2 and start adding in extensions to see whats causing the issue.

Have you contacted the support/ devs of the Ark Editor?

I did submit a bug report but unfortunately there is no support unless you buy a subscription and I'm not ready to do that yet for this project.

I did end up doing a fresh joomla install using only Gantry5, admintools and K2 v2.7.0

I found that there was no errors in chrome console when using joomla's default editor and the k2 edit modal worked as expected.

Once I verified the default configuration worked I installed the Ark Editor. After installing I retested leaving TinyMCE as the default frontend editor but found I was now getting errors in chrome console again and k2 edit modal kept loading inside itself. The only difference here is that the ark editor scripts were loading even though the editor itself was not. i would say either the script ordering is causing a problem or something is wrong with one of their scripts.

I un-installed Ark Editor and installed JCE. No console errors and k2 edit modal works as it should. To bad as I really like using the ark editor. Really wish they could make it work for k2 inline editing in the same way it works for joomla articles.

What's odd about this is that I'm not seeing where anyone else is having this same issue when looking at the forums.

Let's try a longshot.
Look for issues with Gantry instead of just K2. Maybe the conflict is with Gantry when it is used with K2.

Finally if it is just a jQuery conflict, you can try jQuery Easy.

Actually I do have a website in which i am using GavickPro instead of Gantry5 and on that website I have the same exact issue. Also as I mentioned before the k2 frontend editing works as it should when using TinyMCE or JCE. The problems only occurs with the Ark Editor installed.

Just out of curiosity have you tried using the Ark Editor with K2?

I'm pretty certain now the problem lies with Ark editor and not K2.

I would definitely appreciated hearing from any K2 users that have been successful in using the Ark editor with K2.

If K2 was the issue here, tinyMCE or JCE would also fail.
I have to say that I am a JCE fan, and I have not used Ark.
