Template override Not Working [Solved] was created by Cindy Moore
K2 - v2.6.9 -
I am trying to create a new layout in the itemform.php but the form is ignoring the overrides.
I have copied/renamed the default template to make the new "blog" template.
I have copied that template into templates/mytemplate/html/com_k2/
I am trying to edit the templates/mytemplate/html/com_k2/blog/itemform.php
I have chosen the "blog" template in the category parameters for that "Blog" category.
I have chosen to pre-select the category "Blog" and have also selected the "blog" template from the menu item parameters in the K2 » Item edit form.
No matter the edit it won't show the changes.
What am I doing wrong?
Edit -
I have read that only the default itemform.php will work for an override. However, I also read that the itemform.php was located in admin folder so I found that quite confusing - still not sure out of the box which is correct. However, my particular issue was the result of a third party plugin. I installed the JSMultiimages , which I quite like BTW, didn't realize it would overwrite the itemform.php. I'll have to reach out to that developer to see if I can safely overwrite (doubt it) or just resave my work each time I update.
Wouldn't mind if you kept this in the forum - I spent an embarrassing amount of time sleuthing - may help someone. :)
