Currently using K2 v.2.6.9
When linking a menu item to an empty category, an empty box appears with a rule around it (see attached). How do you prevent an empty box from appearing in a category view.

I cannot really tell much from that screenshot.

Here is the link to the page ...but it shows on all pages that have an empty category.
I believe this page shows 2 empty boxes because of the main and the sub-category both being empty.

This is a template issue, it is unrelated to K2.
You need to address this issue to the template's developer.
