Feed does not refresh was created by Rob Parker
We've been using SRFR v2.1 for a number of years on a site built with Joomla 1.5. We're currently building a new version with Joomla 3.4, and so tried the latest version of SRFR (v3.3) - downloaded and installed yesterday. Added a feed from the lorem-rss.herokuapp.com/feed site to a page to test that everything works OK, but find that the page does not refresh the feed content; need to manually reload the page to get the latest content to appear.

The old version puts a refresh command into the page header, thus:
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="900">
and the content on the page displaying the feed refreshes automatically.

The new version has no such refresh command in the page header, and I can't see any setting in the administrator section of the SRFR module that allows control of this. How can I get the page displaying the feed to automatically refresh?

Hello Rob,

The meta refresh tags can be added to your site's index.php file manually.

Really? How exactly can I do that, when the statement needs to include the refresh time (in seconds), which should be the same as the cache time (in minutes) set in the administrator for the SRFR module.

2.1 is a really old version. About 3 years old. The cache time is by default set to 30 mins for images so this value won't be much help.

You can look at this URL stackoverflow.com/questions/17886578/refresh-part-of-page-div
which will allow you to add a small JS script to manually refresh any part of your page.

I think it's older than that; as I said, we've been using it for years. My question was about the latest version - 3.3

Thanks for that. I'll check it out.
