When I set a new k2 item and click on the image button I get the regular Joomla images folder.

I read that 'K2 images are always stored under media/k2/items and this cannot be changed' .

I would like to access access this folder to reuse an image, from time to time, on a new article. Is there a way I can do this?

Unfortunately no. Each K2 image is used once by each item.

Thanks for the quick response. Seems a shame, if I wanted to use the same image on more than one article I end up using 3 or 4 images where one would have done. Luckily they are not big files

You could change the media manager to look at K2's cache folder /media/k2/items/cache instead of /images but you will lose some of K2's functionality. I would not recommend this.
