bringing joomla content into new K2 installation was created by Laurence Richardson
Quick overview. I'm converting my content rich website (about 650 articles) over to a new template and k2. To clean up plugins and stuff I would like to do a fresh install of Joomla along with K2 and use the import function.
2 Questions;
1. Can I back up or make a copy of my current content and import from that? This would mean I make a copy, store it, do a fresh install and import the items.
2. Does this import maintain the links (urls) understanding I need to have the same categories etc.
Bear in mind I'm low level Joomla experience user and just starting to learn K2.
Thanks!

Hello,
You will need an extension like Akeeba Backup to backup your site.
Your links are mostly generated from your menu structure, so you need to update this as well.
