I'm looking for a plugin that will help users manage/edit/ blog posts they have posted via k2 "edit item" or is there a better solution for posting blogs that incorporates article management?

Also want bloggers to be able to see the number of articles they have posted, number of reads for each article,

Hello Paul,

Apart from the native functionality, the user can see his items from his page and edit them. The K2 User module can provide these links.

Apart from that, there commercial extension available in the JED like: K2 Story and K2 Story Submit.

I have not personally used these extension so I cannot provide any feedback or if they fit your needs exactly.
