We have a site that has been up and running for a couple of years now and in the last 2 weeks all of the k2 document links have stopped working and throw an HTML Error 500. It is a Joomla 2.5 site (I know that it's not supported anymore but it has been working fine and except for this issue is working fine). Has anyone seen a similar issue before > Any ideas or thoughts are greatly appreciated,

You need to enable error reporting in order to see the specifics of the error. 500 is a generic code.

Thank you for your reply. I did have error reporting turned on and just changed it to Developer level and I still get the same results. I went to look at the error log and it has nothing in it since last December. Any other thoughts or ideas ? Still trying to resolve this. I have upgraded the site to J3.6 and reinstalled K2 and now I get the error in the linked file here: dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/647279/2017-02-08_11-04-33.jpg - I really need to find out what this problem is and how to fix it so any and all assistance is greatly appreciated. Do you provide paid support ? If that would expedite resolution I would be happy to pay (a reasonable :)) amount to get this resolved.

You need to enable the PHP multibytes module which is pretty much present in all hosting environments.
