Imagesize, pagespeed and new K2 version was created by Martin Thorgaard
Using the last week to search for a solution, the only answer I could find is, that there currerntly are no solution to K2 image resize issue.

I've got some problems with my website's loading-speed. I've got a low score on Google Insight Pagespeed, only because my images is poorly compressed.
I've tried to download all the K2 cached images (min-barsel.dk/media/k2/items) to compress and decrease their size, but apperently K2 recreate the images after I upload them, and therefore I cant decrease them in size.

I've heard that K2 V. 3.2 should take care of that problem, with ImageMagick?

Is that right, and when aprox. will V. 3.2 be released?

And finally, if thats correct, does ImageMagick have to be installed at my website's server-provider, or will K2 V. 3.2 take care of that?

Sincerely,
Martin

Hi Martin,

You can use a third-party service and extension from ImageRecyle, which automatically processes images on your server:
www.imagerecycle.com/cms/joomla?atid=18

The service requires an inexpensive subscription:
www.imagerecycle.com/prices?atid=18

I hope this helps,

Joe Campbell

Hello,

Even if we support ImageMagick, it will need to be present in the server environment.
