Hello, I need someone's help to achieve my problem.

I want to have a submenu new ITEM called DOSSIER in the k2 admin panel. I've try to do some modification to get it by copying categories folder in the administrator/components/k2 , i have create a DOSSIER submenu.

The URL is OK, and i can get all DOSSIER from the database. Also when i clic on NEW button the URL is OK. But when i clic on cancel i return to CATEGORIES pages.

Also when i create a DOSSIER ITEM it goes to the CATEGORIES ITEM and not in the DOSSIER.

This is my priority problem.

Hello i have make some screen short to show you about what I need.

1- I want another field type that Called DOSSIER that will list all DOSSIERS ITEMS created from Database.
For doing that, i've make a copy off all category folder or category file i found in Domaine/administrator/components/com-k2.
i have make a copy of all in controllers | elements | models | Tables | Views
Now all doesn't work properly.

I have create DOSSIER under categorie

2- When I Edit a DOSSIER ITEM like you can see the url is ok the TITLE and the ALIAS also, but when i click on CANCEL button, the system take me back to CATEGORIES I should be back to DOSSIER LIST ITEMS and not CATEGORIES LIST ITEMS

Cancel button take me back to categories


3- When I create a new DOSSIER ITEM, this NEW ITEM is created in CATEGORIES ITEM instead of DOSSIER ITEM and the url change.

New Items are create in categories


4- When i create new ITEM i can see the DOSSIER SELECTBOX and that is what I want.

This one work fine



For the moment all this work I've done is without creating any table, any fiel in the Database. So for this moment the problem is about EDIT, ADD, COPY, TRASH an item in DOSSIERS ITEM LIST

So you basically create an entirely new view instead of items/categories.

The next step would be to create a new backend view/form for the Dossier Items so items only inherit the Dossier terms and behaves as it should.

This is a more complex issue which I cannot provide a definite answer.
My bet would be that the query which saves the item has not been edited properly.

If you have successfully shown the dossiers instead of the categories in the select box, then you need to double check the query and make sure the correct id and field is being used.
