I have a K2 content module rendering on this page www.oldottawasouth.ca/programs see below where some of the items have images rendering at 200px as expected. But I had to replace the one for birthday parties. And now, no matter what I upload to the K2 Item in questionthe image is rendered at 100% of its containing element's width.

The same thing happens if I re-create the K2 Item, or if I upload a different image or if I select the image by browsing the server.

What on earth is going on?

Settings. Why yes, possibly. But there's one or two settings to choose from.

What manner of setting might affect how the image sizing works on one K2 Item but not another within the same category listing?

I know this is pretty needle-in-a-haystack and appreciate your response. Any suggestions you might have to narrow down my search would be equally appreciated.

The whole situation started when I had to change the image for the item. The image I uploaded was 876px square but needed to be 200px square to fit the layout.

I uploaded the over-large image not realizing Joomla wasn't going to re-size it. It appeared at the over-large size you see in the screen capture.

So I reduced the image size in Photoshop and re-uploaded a 200px square version of the image. It still appears at the over-large size only now it's quite pixellated because Joomla and/or the stylesheet is rendering a 200px image at 410px square. I expect this is because theme stylesheet is assigning it max-width: 100% and the containing element is that wide.

If I use my browser to open the image in a new tab, it shows the image at 876px square and very pixellated.

I've tried deleting the item and re-recreating it, uploading a different image to the K2 item. All behave identically. Which of the settings controls how big Joomla renders the images in a K2 category listing?

I clear the caches every time I make a setting change, re-upload the image or do anything.

Have you double-checked K2's image settings?
What is the value for the medium size?

Are you using any overrides (for the sizes) in the category's settings?

Well, I checked all those things and lined them all up at 'small' aka 200px and re-uploaded the image and it's back to the same size as its siblings. Some day when I have more time I will figure out the order of precedence: category, module, K2 etc etc.

Meanwhile I want to thank you for sticking with an obtuse support question and giving me a list of places to check.

The order is Category overrides -> K2's settings.
If there are no category overrides (which they will be used site-wide) the default setting will be used.
