I'm on K2 2.8.0 (upgraded to fix the issue in mod_k2_content with custom links not working) and Joomla 3.7.2.

When creating a new K2 'item' menu item, items are not selectable in the item list. Additionally the red 'close' button does not work. The modal close button does.

At present it's impossible to create menu links to K2 items.

I've attempted on both Firefox and Chrome on MacOs Sierra.

Quick note, I've created a pull request on GitHub with my solution:

I had a look at the difference between 2.7.1 and 2.8 for this particular function and it leapt out at me that the new modal version was using 'window.parent.k2ModalSelector' but the old 'window.parent.jSelectItem' - which seems reasonable, given it's adding to a menu item.

I changed this and voila, all working.

Unfortunately the patch is not available at this moment.

This is **absolutely not recommended**, and you should ensure you keep a backup of this file before performing this action, because this issue will be fixed soon and my fix is not a great one for compatibility moving forward.

That said, you can see my change here: github.com/getk2/k2/pull/396/files

This rolls it back to the previous way of working - only use if you're desperate.
