I have had a look around and cannot find anything about what I would like to do.

I have a website with members who are assigned to a Group who can log in to the backend admin of the website. Each member has their own items that they can edit.

I have set up the admin to just show K2 for that particular group of members, so the member can easily navigate to K2 Items.
They then have to select themselves from the user list drop down to filter the items to just show the ones they can edit.

Can I somehow preselect the user when they click to go to the K2 items admin page, so they are only shown their items to edit without any further action? As the website grows the list of users will get longer and longer therefore finding an individual in a long list will become more difficult.

The client doesn't want any front end access, hence this request to handle this in the backend admin.

This can only be handled through a custom extension.
You could use JavaScript to manually manipulate the filters.

Unfortunately no, you can look at Chozen's API which is the script used for filter, but it requires programming skills.
