Hi,

In K2 advanced parameters-->Advanced SEF settings there is an option called Prefix for category URLs and its default is content.

I can can easily change this but my question is:

would it be better to call this category and make this change to the next release of k2 because it makes more sense. I appreciate this would be for new installs only. I would make the change if it is only for categories and nothing else which is another thing I just want to check because content is quite a broad description it this setting just for categories slug.

Thanks

Hello,

This is up to the user actually, since they can change it what they want (and a large number of users are non-English speakers) a generic term was selected.
Personally, I map the category into a menu item and remove the prefix altogether :)

Hi Krikor

if you look at the attached image you can see the following mappings:

category url --> content
tag url --> tag
author url --> author
search url --> search
date url --> date

as you can see the category is the odd one out.

does this mean the category url does more that categories? and this case the description might need changing.

or is this just a typo? If this is a typo I would ask this should be a feature request to change it to category to match the rest. I can make the github issue if you agree.

thanks

I don't think this needs to be changed since it will also change URLs in existing sites.
It will cause SEO headaches in multiple sites. Since this is completely optional, the user can change it to what they want.
