Has anyone created a 'Member Directory' for an organization, using K2? It seems like K2 could do this easily with its ability to create custom fields, etc.

• When a 'member' logs in and searches the member directory, can we control what fields are displayed in the results?
• I believe I read that the search feature in K2 only returns results for the 'extra fields'—is this true?
• Can the 'member' be restricted to only edit their own listing but not anyone elses?
• Can the member upload a profile photo?
• Does the K2 admin need a plugin to be able to upload/export member records?

Is there any documentation or any examples of this somewhere?

Hello,

While you can do this, I would suggest using a dedicated extension for the directory.
K2 is built for content and you will need to develop some custom plugins in order to have it work 100% like a member directory.

Thanks. Using a dedicated extension or plugin has been exactly what Ive been searching for. Unfortunately the solutions I've been looking at in JED are either too basic or go far beyond our needs ;-)
