Mohamed, first of all, it's great, it works! Thanks for that :)

I mean, this is going live on a live site now.

I'll see if i can split the long/lat i used to have in one extra field in the database into yours, that would save me from redoing hundreds of items.

Now, some things I noticed - you see if you feel like doing something with this or not.
  • When in the frontend I zoom out the pin sticks to the middle although the map slowly moves away a little bit.
  • Satellite option would be great (see map.project-osrm.org/)
  • If we could use the map in the backend to add coordinates, that'd be cool too

I'll see if I can create a link underneath the map to a google map so people can use it to start navigating if they're seeing this on their mobile or so.

Keep up the good work and thanks a lot!

Thanks Lex, I'm happy that you liked it :)

Yes, moving lat/long from the extrafield to the plugin table will work.
You can use the map in the backend to add coordinates.

I will consider the other ideas in the coming releases.

Hey Mohamed,

With your extension, is there a way to auto geocode addresses found in the extrafields of K2 items?

Example of logic:
filter based on Cat ID and sub cats.
Geocode based on address in many or just a single extafield.
So it could be just extrafield2 or extrafield2 extrafield3 extrafield4. this is handy for addresses that are distributed over 3 or 4 extrafields.

I am a former user of DM Maps for K2. I have 3-4 sites in need of a new k2/map solution. However many of these websites have 1000 k2 items that have been geocoded. Manual geocoding is just not realistic.

Hi Jack,

Filtering based on category is supported.
Geocode is not supported yet, but can be added soon.
