As I am new to K2, I would like to know if it lets us create a dropdown list with links in the list items like a menu.

For instance to look like the "select year or country" on the right on this webpage: eurovisionworld.com/

The K2 Tools module has this feature.
Set the "Select module functionality" option to "Category Select Box"

If you are looking for a dropdown menu, this is not a K2 issue.
I think you can find this kind of extension on JED
