K2 Item - Not showing formatting when published was created by Luis Saltos
Hi All,
I have a strange issue I cant seem to solve now for a few days.
1. I use K2 v2.9.0
2. Joomla 3.9.4
3. PHP 7.0.33
4. K2 v 2.9.0
5, Template - JA_simpli
Issue : I spend time in my JCE Editor, writing an item in K2, with paragraphs, bold titles, spacing , hyperlinks etc.
Then I publish it. But when I look at the articles on the website, it has NO formatting at all, hyperlinks are also missing or not working. Its one big continous block of writing (as if I wrote it in notepad). I go back into the editor and it looks perfect !? (Heading, Paragapgh , formatting etc)
I have swapped templates and still have the same issue. I have enabled ALL my plugins and disabled them and still the same issue.
If I publish the Joomla (standard) article, then it looks fine with all the formatting - but I want to use K2. ????
Anyone have any ideas ???

K2 can strip HTML tags if you have the related filters enabled in the K2 Settings (backend) OR if you use a word limit in your category settings or in modules. The latter case requires that all tags are stripped because if the word limit is reached, it may leave unopened HTML tags and cause your entire site to break.

Really appreciate the reply. I must admit that Im a little confused about "related filters enabled in the K2 Settings (backend)" , like where in the backend , what filters ??? But I will have a look at the Options for Items and Options in Category and see if I can see anything.
If you have any further detail, specifics, then it will help alot :) Thanks again

Well I found it !!!! Thanks for the advice.
Yes it was in the following area:
K2 Categories -> Parameters
Then under the Content Tab - goto Content Cleanup Section
Introtext HTML cleanup (tag strip) - Was set to "YES" - I turned this to "NO" and my issue was resolved !!!
Would not have been about to do this without advise. Cheers :)

K2 follows a "common sense" approach (unlike Joomla articles). So when something appears to be wrong, first check your K2 settings, then your category settings and finally an individual item settings (if the issue affects a single K2 item). If it's a module, check its parameters.
You'll love K2's flexibility ;)
