K2 supports Joomla's generic search component (com_search) and it also has its own search results view. For the first one, you can only pass certain data to the search results (item title and body). The second one however, being K2 entirely, allows you to show any data that's already in K2.

Simply copy the code for the "featured" block as it's in category_item.php INTO generic.php.
