Frontend-Publishing doesnt work

Hi guys,

we just found out that we can not publish articles via frontend editor:
We open the frontend editor in which we write the title, content, ... of the new article. The publish button is on "yes".
Then we click on "save", the page refresh itself. Then the publish button has switched to "no". That way it is not possible to publish the article. Only solution is to switch to the admin backend (which only works with admin rights). This behaviour occurs no matter which permission level the user has (member or admin).

As soon as we give an user the admin rights of K2 he can create or change articles in any category. However, we want to give access to users only to special categories so that the backend-editoring is no solution for us.

We use the 2.9.1 Dev Build. and Joomla 3.9.1. .Last time we used this feature successfully was with an older version of K2.

Would be glad about your support, thank you!

I recommend you upgrade to Joomla 3.9.5 and grab the latest snapshot from K2's repo: github.com/getk2/k2/archive/master.zip

Let me know.

Hi Fotis, thank you for your suggestion. We will have a huge event on our website in May so we will wait for this until we try to update (to avoid diverse update risks). Will come back afterwards if we had success with that. Cheers :-)

Hi, I have being using K2 for a decade with almost no serious problem, but now I am making a new site for the same client using Joomla 3.9.10 and K2 v2.10.0 [Dev Build 20190522] with no 3rd party as yet and the frontend editing is not working. It opens up, but the TinyMCE is not loading and the Feature and Publishing buttons are dead. As recommended, I installed the master.zip and the TineMCE loaded, the buttons changed into check on fields and when I try to close the page, the editor vanished and nothing work anymore.
I hope you can help me on that?
Thank you in advance!!!

This looks like a JS issue which may come from your template. Open your browser's dev tools and switch to the console tab. Then visit the frontend edit form (K2) and check for any errors in the console. Paste them back here.

For info on how to use Chrome's dev tools, have a look here: developers.google.com/web/tools/chrome-devtools/console/

It's similar (in use) for Firefox too: developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools
