old version and no longer needed files in k2 to be deleted after upgrate to 2.10 was created by Marco
Hi.
I've discovered by accident that in /administrator/components/com_k2/elements the file items.php can be deleted because it does not exist in version 2.10.
In order to clean up, can you list all the old files to be deleted because no more needed in the last K2 version and potentially dangerous for the proper Joomla operation?
Thank you
Marco

First of all, these files are not dangerous. The new ones added are just merged and improved versions of some old elements/fields.
If you want to be 100% sure, delete your K2 component folders:
/administrator/components/com_k2
/components/com_k2
...as well as your K2 module folders.
BUT DO NOT uninstall K2 from Joomla (which would erase your K2 DB tables).
Then simply re-install K2 v2.10 and you'll get all current files in place.

Hi Fotis.
I did what you told me and it has been a complete disaster. I deleted the content of the following folders:
/administrator/components/com_k2
/components/com_k2
/modules/mod_k2_comments
/modules/mod_k2_content
/modules/mod_k2_tools
/modules/mod_k2_user
/modules/mod_k2_users
and the install section of the administration panel crashed with the error <<Errore_ 0 Class 'K2Model' not found>> (see attached printscreens)
I restored the previous situation copying again the deleted content from my daily backup area.
There is definitely a problem with k2 and I suspect that it is connected with the problem with a similar error included in my other issue (www.joomlaworks.net/forum/k2-en/50579-k2-jquery-usage-conflict-with-other-modules-in-backend).
I found in internet other messages from people having the same error as mine.
Please help me solve it. Thank you
Marco

You should also delete the contents of the K2 system plugin in /plugins/system/k2. Have Joomla ready in the installer page to then load the URL of the new K2 version.
