Hi,
I'm using K2 to show some items.

nuzoo.it/en/nuzoo-engineering-services/portfolio-en

In this moment, I have two categories "Professional and industrial projects" and "View all" order by insertion date.
I would show a third category, or I would to create a custom button (maybe in Javascript) that shows all the K2 items, but ordered by number of visits.
Is it possible?

It's easier to just create a new menu item that sorts K2 items by hits.

sorry, what do you mean for "menu item". I have a Joomla website and I need a category, with the item sorted, to show near the other two...

Go to getk2.org/extend/extensions and notice the sorting menu around here jmp.sh/Gxvf6H9 (as shown in the screenshot).

These sorting options (which I assume is what you want), are just a secondary menu pointing to the same categories but using different ordering.

Isn't this what you want?

This is actually a single menu. The sorting options are the 3rd level after "Extend > Extensions". What is rendered there is the mod_menu module and to allow for showing just the 3rd level, you define that in the module settings.

getk2.org is based on the older Joomla 1.5 release but the same options exist in Joomla 3.x.

The first images simply shows the menu structure. If A is your menu item for a category, make:
A
|_ B (like A but with different ordering)
|_ C (like A but with different ordering)

After you make your secondary menu level, then create a new "menu" module instance and make sure it filters only the secondary level of the menu where A exists in.

So you'll be working in Joomla's menu and inside the Module Manager with the "Menu" module.

Start level and end level are the same. Use that to render a specific level. Experiment a bit. After that it's all about positioning the new menu module instance in your template.

Ok but in the page I've sent, the dropdown "seleziona menu" contains the menu in my website and not contains reference about k2...

That's correct. The menu module (which is a "core" Joomla module) fetches data from Joomla menus. You tell it WHICH menu to load and then you filter it by menu-level. Just try it.

I tried but I saw only a submenu of my menu.
The menu module acts on Joomla article, not on K2 Article.
I need a submenu but in K2 part...

You are either doing something wrong, or you haven't understood yet the concept of rendering specific menu levels.

In any case, this is no longer a K2 issue but rather a Joomla issue so I advise you to seek further assistance to the main Joomla forum.
