Broken RSS/Atom Links was created by Terry Pierce
K2 is creating RSS/Atom links and placing in the header of my site. However, both of these links are broken and lead to 404 errors so I'd like to either remove them or update them to work properly. I can't seem to find any info on how to control these links so any input would be appreciated.

My K2 blog: www.ecompmarketing.com/resources/seo-blog

Broken Links:
www.ecompmarketing.com/resources/seo-blog&format=feed&Itemid=333&type=rss
www.ecompmarketing.com/resources/seo-blog&format=feed&Itemid=333&type=atom

Thanks

Hi Fotis,

I'm experiencing the same issue on alfoat.ie when moving to K2 2.10.3. This page:
afloat.ie/sail/scottish-waters
creates this RSS feed link:
afloat.ie/sail/scottish-waters/?format=feed&type=rss
in the head of the page but as you'll see it's not loading correctly which is causing a problem as these feeds are going to a second website which currently has an error message.

We did have an issue with the homepage rss feed url changing and causing a Mailchimp newsletter to break, however the new url produced in the head there afloat.ie/?format=feed&type=rss works fine.

Any ideas?

Dave

Dave, your issue seems to be different. The bug in K2 v2.10.2 was related to the syntax of the URLs generated, not the actual output.

My guess is that some other plugin is "hijacking" the "format" parameter and does not allow K2 to render the relevant document mode.

Apologies, when the original post was 4 days ago, I thought it would be a similar problem.

The RSS feeds worked fine in 2.10.2 though, it's just since the update that they have broken.

I did some additions in the K2 system plugin in 2.10.3 that *may* affect the output. In v2.10.4 these additions have been optimized and combined to a different system plugin event.

If you have a dev/staging environment, please try 2.10.4 (dev) from: getk2.org/downloads/?f=K2_Development_Release.zip

Version 2.10.4 will be release this week either way to address another issue with the advanced URL router in K2.

No dev environment, but tried it on the live site and it fixes the issue so afloat.ie/sail/scottish-waters/?format=feed&type=rss now works as expected.

Thanks for your help,
Dave

Hi, I have a couple of sites on 10.3 where their RSS feeds recently started going to 404 pages. I have other sites on 10.3 that don't have this problem. I have tried disabling the Additional Categories plugin (one of the few differences between the sites), updated my template php overrides to be based on 10.3 instead of their previous 10.2 versions, and even installed the development version of 10.4, nothing seems to work. I'm running Joomla 3.9.23, any ideas? - Thanks

EDIT: Figured it out, it was a conflict with the "Custom Canonicals" plugin
