K2 menu item - alias madness was created by Andrea
Hi, i wrote another topic concerning the same matter but for another website i was developing, however couldn't find it in "my topics" account tab so i'm going to write here.
I'm working on a new project, and i'm using both K2 and SPPB. This is the issue i'm having:
valpelliceoutdoor.it/item/3-escursione-conca-del-pra
This alias shouldn't exist, the parent category alias is this: valpelliceoutdoor.it/attivita/trekking
The category is a SPPB page menu item, but thanks to Fotis' suggestion (on my previous topic) i created another menu item which is k2 category and nestled it as child of the "main" category. However, while this worked flawlessly on the other website -which also uses SPPB and K2 in the same way- didn't work at all on this one.
(Another weird issue is that when i tried to delete both the menu items and create them from scratch, the main category -which is supposed to be a SPPB page, displays only this valpelliceoutdoor.it/attivita/trekking).
I tried enabling and disabling the sh404sef plugin for K2 but nothing changed.
Looking forward to your reply, cuz this is driving me insane lol

If you use sh404SEF, you need to clear sh404SEF's URL cache when performing changes in menus et al.
In any case, the important thing is to have at least one menu item pointing to all K2 categories if you're gonna use SPPB to call K2 content inside it.

Hi, the menu structure im planning to have is the following:
|-- HIKING(sppb) -->HIKING ITINERARIES (k2 category)
|
ACTIVITIES (sppb) --MTB(sppb)--> MTB ITINERARIES (k2 category)
|
|--CLIMBING(sppb)--> CLIMBING ITINERARIES (k2 category)
Is that feasible? So it's just a matter of cache? Becaouse right now i don't have the structure i want, and the "HIKING" category is not displaying the SPPB page content it should be.
Thx

Hi, i purged the sh404sef cache and solved the second problem, the one regarding the category. However, the k2 item in it still has this url: valpelliceoutdoor.it/item/3-escursione-conca-del-pra

Is that item's category "mapped" in your menu structure?

What's this "hidden" flag?

Hi, it's a Joomla! option to have the menu item not displayed in the menu (in this case, the top menu of the website). This allows me to avoid having the "Attività" item in the top menu displaying two different dropdown.
Otherwise, it would appear like this: attività->trekking->itinerari trekking; while what i want (and have done) is attività->trekking
I doubt this is the issue, as i did this thing also on the other website for which you previously assisted me.
Please see the attached images for better understanding. The first one is from this new website i'm having trouble with, the second the one i made previously with the same component, with the menu items nesting working flawlessly as you suggested.
As always, many thanks =)
